Capped with polished golden finials, the distinctive
yellow corrugated-iron pagoda roof of the Gadhan Thekchhkling gompa is an
exotic splash of color amid the ramshackle huts of the Tibetan quarter. The
brightly painted prayer hall dominated by a large seated Shakyamuni, stands on
the west-side of the quadrangle is open to visitors.
A smaller gompa near the bazaar has a large
gold-faced image of Buddha.
Monks can be seen printing prayer flags in the open terrace. |
