Kamakshi Ammam Temple

Built during Pallava supermacy and modified in the 14th and 17th centuries, the Kamakshi Ammam Temple, combines several styles, with an ancient central shrine. This is one of India's three holiest shrines to Shakti, The goddess Kamakshi, a local form of Parvati, shown with a sugar-cane bow and arrows of flowers, is honoured as having lured Shiva to Kanchipuram.
