Tharpa Choling Gompa, a Gelug-pa monastery, founded in 1892 but now being completely rebuilt, established by the Yellow Hat Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, which the Dalai Lama belongs to, is the repository of old scriptures and documents. The gompa is about 40 minute walk from the main town. |
