Kalimpong is renowned for its horticulture and especially its orchid culture with around fifty nurseries such as Sri Ganesh Mani Pradhan, Ganesh Villa, 12th mile, specializing in new hybrids as well as cacti, amryllis, palms, ferns and other species of plants. Although Kalimpong blossoms all year long, the best time to see orchids in bloom is between mid - April and mid - May, when the flower festival is usually held. |
