The crowning glory of Goa is its beaches, figuring among the best in the world. Goa's coastal line(102kms), lies on the Arabian Sea along the slopes of the Western Ghats - the Sahyadari range. Goa is a sequence of beaches, separated from one another by rocky headlands, bays and estuaries of rivers.
 
Anjuna Beach
With its fluorescent painted palm trees and infamous full moon parties, ANJUNA, 8-km west of Mapusa, is Goa at its most "alternative". A popular beach area adjacent to Chapora Fort. At night, the Anjuna band plays for the beach party. The  attractions of Anjuna Beach are the magnificent Albuquerque Mansion, the Mascarenhas Mansion, and the Chapora Fort. Anjuna attracts a weird and wonderful collection of over  monks, defiant ex-hippies, gentle lunatics, artists, artisans, seers, searchers, sybarites and itinerant expatriates.
 
As of its pleasant climate, Anjuna can be visited at any time of the year. However, tourists should beware the heavy rainfall between June and October. The period from November to February is the best time to visit Anjuna.
Arambol Beach
A unique beach in the North Goa, it is both rocky and sandy, beach and much sought after by foreign tourists. It has a sweet water tank right on the shore. Along the Goa border is Arambol  with its fresh water lagoon. The main beach has adequate bodysurfing and there are several attractive bays a short walk to the north.
Arambol is one such centre of attraction, where one can see a mini-India, where people are looking for comfort and pleasure during the tourist season which starts in October with pleasant weather.
Baga Beach
The Baga Beach lies 10 km west of Mapusa and really speaking is an extension of Calangute, even the locals are unable to decide where ends and the other begin. Baga is a clean beach. Baga is a fishing beach with brown sand that sees a lot of international tourists sun-bathing in its golden sun, as a grove pof palms gently sways in the wind.
Calungate Beach
Calangute 'Queen of beaches' is 16 kms from Panaji (capital of Goa) is the 7 kms. long Calangute lie on the shores of the Arabian Sea of North Goa in India. It is encircled by Arpora-Nagoa, Saligao and Candolim, in the Bardez taluka, and is just  15 km from Panaji.
Calangute Beach can be visited at any time of the year, though the monsoon months, which bring heavy rains, are best avoided. The best time of the year to visit this area is between September and March.
Colva Beach
Colva is the most popular beach among the Goans with its white powder sands on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Colva is Goa’s longest beach with 20 km of virgin white sands that are fringed with palms and drenched with the sun. Colva beach is 6kms. from Margao. Colva is one of the most popular beaches in South Goa. Colva stretches sun-drenched, palm fringed and virtually deserted for km after km.
The best time of the year to visit this area is between September and March.
▪ Dona Paula Beach
Dona Paula is 7 km from Panaji near the rocky point between the Mandovi and the Zuari is Dona Paula, a secluded bay with a fine view of the Marmagao harbour. This is an idyllic spot to relax and sunbathe. Water scootering facilities available. At the place where two of Goa's famous rivers meet the Arabian sea is the Dona Paula bay, this place is called the Lovers Paradise due to a myth which has been attached to this place.
As of its pleasant climate, Dona Paula can be visited at any time of the year. However, tourists should beware the heavy rainfall between June and October. The best time of the year to visit this area is between September and March.   
▪ Vegator Beach
What is the trademark of Goa is very well reflected in Vegator which is one of the most beautiful of the soft white sand beaches that Goa is famous for. The inhabited area around this beach is lush green, dotted with coconut palms, friendly farmhouses and pictorial Portuguese bungalows. This end of the beach is relatively secluded and has a row of cafes catering to the tourists who are here during the day. It is an attractive little bay between rocky headlands with a series of small beaches with shady palms.
As of its pleasant climate, Vagator can be visited at any time of the year, but the best time of the year to visit this area is between September and March.
