| It stands on the site that is believed to be Indraprastha, the capital of the Pandavas in the Mahabharata epic, though the construction was carried out by Sher Shah Suri any time between 1538 to 1545 A. D. The structure houses a mosque which has a double storied octagonal tower. The small lake in front, is popular for boating. The Delhi Zoo is next door. | |
