Air: Airport: Belgaum (82 kms).
Rail: Nearest Railhead is Dharwad (40kms.).
Road: At 481 km from Bangalore, it's an overnight journey to Dandeli.
The camp is located just 1 km from bus stand or alternatively one could
take a bus from the Bangalore stand to Hubli. From Hubli, you could take
another bus or hire a car.

Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary

Location: 485 km from Bangalore, 125 km from Goa, 75 km from Hubli, 93 kms
from Karwar
Area : 5729.07sq. Kms
The calm and peaceful Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is reputed as the largest
wildlife sanctuary in Karnataka.
Flora and Fauna: Sloth Bear, Bush Grail, Deer, Elephant, Sambar,
Tiger, Gaur, Panther and Partridge, Leopard, Sloth , Civet cat, Wild
Boar, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Mouse Deer, Barking Deer, Mongoose, Wild
Dog, Giant Squirrel, Flying Squirrel, Jackal, Common Langur, etc. are some
of the many inhabitants of the sanctuary.

Kali Wilderness Camp

Kali wilderness camp is located in hilly Uttara Kannada District of
Karnataka, bordering Goa. 75% of the district is covered with forests
making it the finest and most extensive wilderness regions in India.
This place truly stands to its name. Kali wilderness camp leads to the
enchanting forests of Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, bordering the river
Kali. Full of mystery and excitement, here you can race with the wind,
trek down nature trails, sight crocodiles basking in the sun and flocks of
beautiful water birds as you float down the River Kali in a coracle. There
is bird life aplenty, and jeep safaris are available to take you to the

93km from Dandeli. The district headquarters of Uttara Kannada, this is an
ideal place to relax. Karwar has sacred pilgrim centres, historical towns
and some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. It is said to have

beach lovers.

Kavala Caves : |
On a small Hill top there are caves and temple inside caves. And all
this inside lush green forests of Dandeli Reserved Forest. This place is
one the way to Nagzari power station from Ambikanagar And is near to
Sykes Point and is around 15+kms from Ambikanagar near Dandeli.
Sykes Point is high point on the edge of Kali valley where you can see
the River Kali running through the forest. This valley is very beautiful
with thick untouched forest on both sides of the river. Especially the
sunsets are wonderful visual treat. |
