▪Shri Bihari Ji Temple : |
This temple is located in the fort of Bharatpur. It was built by Bharatpur
Naresh in 1760 AD. According to the prevalent belief, hundreds of years ago
at Kadamba Khandi near Kaman in Braj, a Naga sage Chatur Chintamani was
practicing ascetism. He was wholly dedicated to Lord Krishna. The Lord was
pleased with the sage and he gave him his own idol. Chatur Chintamani was
going to Jaipur with that idol but on his way at Bharatpur the idol would
not go further. This made Chintamani think that the Lord wanted to have his
shrine here. Following this, the idol was installed at a shrine in the fort
of Bharatpur and the king constructed a temple there.

▪ Shri Gangaji Temple : |
It was built in 1845 to 1937. It is built by Shri Balwant Singh
between duration of 1845 to 1937. The then king of Bharatpur Maharaj
Balwant Singh did not have any issue, hence to get blessed with a son, he
founded this temple at the suggestion of Shri Hardevji Maharaj. By and by,
generation to the generation, the building work continued. The Maharaj did
not accept any help from outside. So he went to the extent of deducting
contributions from salaries of his employees. It took many years to get the
temple built. A special feature of the temple is that the king and queen
could have first sight of Ganga Maharani and even today a window in their
royal palace opens exactly towards the temple of Shri Gangaji and the
darshan of Shri Ganga can be held by the king or the queen.

▪Shri Laxmanji Temple : |
|
It is built by Bharatpur Naresh Balwant Singh in 1870 AD. The king, it is
said, came into close contact of a sage called Shri Sant Dass. Those were
the last days of the King's rule. This sage Sant Dass was the great devotee
of Laxmanji and always remained dedicated to him. It is said that soon after
the foundation of the temple was laid Maharaja Baldev Singh who had in fact
founded it, declared his son Balwant Singh as his successor king. Thus
Maharaja Balwant Singh in his rule got the temple constructed. The idols
were enshrined in the Vikram Samvat 1947 (1890 A.D.). The Laxmanji temple of
Deeg according to its pujari Pandit Murari Lal Prashar, is older than this
temple and the royal family of Bharatpur regards both the Laxmanji temples
as their royal temples. |
